Governor Sonny Perdue Prays For Rain in Georgia

If the prayer works, hallelujah. If it doesn't, it's the mysterious way. You can't lose.

A prayer to a milk jug, that is.

God, Governor Sonny Perdue ignores terror on this child of yours. As proof on video of the 06-10-02 Fort Oglethorpe, GA. City council meeting. Made by U.C.TV 3. Or sidewalks on battlefield parkway in catoosa county. After I, Tony Baugh was giving tickets in my electric wheelchair in 2000. Where there was no sidewalks until after I set up. And here in 2008 my civil rights is still being broke. As I roll what God sent me to keep on keeping on. A wheelchair to enjoy life.

If a leader/authority figure prays you rant about seperation of church and state....READ INTO OUR COUNTRY'S HISTORY...and stop being so ignorant.
Our country was founded upon the principles of christianity, faith, and belief in GOD!!
If you don't believe it... open your wallet, pull out a bill, and read the words "IN GOD WE TRUST".
You can take prayer out of our schools, the ten commandments out of courthouses, but the truth still remains...
This nation was founded on God's principles...

I believe that Gov. Perdue is an exceptional leader, and a wonderful example of a man of God. I commend him for that.

First of all, if you do not like that the majority of the country is Christian, MOVE! There are plenty of countries that probably cater to your religious beliefs or lack thereof. Second, if you would study history, you would find that this country was founded with God (that is a capital G for those that are having spelling problems) in mind, and last, but certainly not least, there is nothing in the constitution that supports/states a separation of church and state.

Sonny Perdue's Rain Dance was not only a violation of Church/State separation, but an embarrassment to the thinking people of Georgia. I am pulling all my support from him and the Republican party because of his "antics".

This is what real leaders in America do. Acknowledging God as The Creator and relying on Him for the future of America as it was being birthed this is what our fore fathers did. Keep up the praying in the public eye. And when the prayer is answered all will know that God is God. May God bless you and the great state of Georgia. May your example be followed by all the governors. America is great and it is because we have relied on God. As we push God out He will leave. Look @ our public schools. Look @ the state of our politics. Politicians afraid to stand for the godly priciples that have made this country great. Thank you Governor Sonny Perdue.

Thank you people of Georgia for leading the way and turning to God for His help in time of need. It was glorious, driving through a pounding rain across Georgia last night. God is still on His throne and keeping His promises: Matt 7:7 Ask and it shall be given, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you.

Thank you, governor, for acknowledging the power of God, and the fact that all our blessings come from God. There are many of us in Texas and across the the country who applaud you and join you in prayer. You have set a good example for all of America as we enter this time of thanksgiving.

I want to thank you for showing wisdom and courage to lead the people in the State of Georgia to the ONLY answer to for our needs. God (Jesus) is the answer!.
May I quote the bible and encourage you to continue to seek God for the State of Georgia and our Country!

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
May rain come and Glorify God for his mercy and grace!

You have to admit, it worked. Even the most skeptical and disbelieving I think were amazed at the response from both the people supporting Gov. Perdue AND the reaction from the Heavens... It just took a little prayer... And we had some serios precipitation.

Your public prayer was a great testimony of your faith in God to many people in this country. I applaud you for being brave enough to do the only thing that will do any good in this desparate situation. It rained in Demorest last night and I know God will give us relief from the drought now. Don't worry, you put it in God's hands and He certainly is answering your prayers.

Its raining Hallelujah! If more only understood the power of prayer. I was sittin on my bed around midnight and heard some noise I said what is that, when I looked out the window I was so grateful to God to see the rain. I knew God was going to answer the prayers of His people. THank You Governor Sonny Perdue. I am so thankful to God for his faithfulness.

It rained today. You can argue with the Governor, but you can't argue very well standing under an umbrella.

My hat is off to Governor Purdue! I am thankful to finally see a public leader asking God for his help! Don't let the critics get you down. I am sitting here in North Georgia listening to the rain!!!!! Keep praying and may God be with Mr. Purdue and Georgia!

What a proud day to be Georgian! Yes, I do believe in the Power of God's promises "wherever two or more are gathered in my name..." There may have been 20 protestors but there are legions of believers standing with our Govenor. God is here and he has heard a very humble servant give Thanksgiving in all things, ask forgiveness for when we have not been good stewards of His blessings, and then asked for the blessing of rain. I am thankful that our Govenor has taken a stand
in front of the noisy minority. It is time that the silent majority remain silent no more. Govenor Perdue I can only imagine that tonight our God in heaven is looking down and saying "this is my child whom I love and am well pleased...." Let the showers of blessing begin!

If the agnostics and atheists REALLY don't believe God is real, why do they care if anyone/everyone prays or not???? I don't care if someone says they are going to tell Santa that I've been bad . . .

We need more leaders like Governor Perdue, who are not afraid to call upon the only One Who can help us.

There's nothing wrong with prayer, but its too little too late. Governor Perdue's been advised that these water problems were likely to eventually develop in north Georgia ever since he took office, and yet he has taken no steps to prevent this from happening.

I am a native Atlantan and our governor is an embarrassment. He repeatedly puts the sole blame of our water problems on the Feds’ protection of endangered mussels, when in truth that is only a small part of the equation. The water levels need to stay close to where they currently are in order to sustain two power plants as well as other businesses downstream. This underscores a core tactic of republicans: always blame the environmentalists, never blame big business!

Our current water dilemma has come to a head due to another republican failing: they encourage unchecked development with no regard to the infrastructure or natural resources. Our previous governor and speaker of the house, both democrats, realized that Atlanta’s decades-long unprecedented growth would most likely eventually lead to water problems. They had plans to build three reservoirs as well as to devise an overall water plan for North Georgia, and had raised $250 million through bond sales towards those ends. When the republicans took over the state leadership those plans were quickly scrapped, with no further regard to water mangagement until very recently…they never even considered devising a water plan.

Experts have predicted this day would come for years (one consulting firm repeatedly advised the state leadership that this day was imminent), yet the republicans have done absolutely nothing….now the best idea they seem to have to offer is prayer. I’m praying too…I pray for better state leadership!

I live in New Jersey and I applaud the Governor for turning to the only one with the answer Almighty God, I too pray that his prayers will be answered in a mighty ourpouring of rain for days so that the mouth of the skeptics and critics will be shut for once. It is just a pity that God allows the rain to fall on the just and the unjust and for once create a modern day Goshen where only those who truly believe in His ability to send rain would receive it. Keep praying Governor, the Lord does answer the prayers that come from a penitent and repentant heart. United we stand divided we fall! God bless America!

Praise God that this nation has a man like Governor Perdue who is not afraid to stand with boldness and look to God for answers! I pray for God to answer swiftly with cool, refreshing rain for the state of Georgia. And I pray that the eyes of the doubters will be opened to see that God is real, He is alive, and He still answers prayer!! God bless you and the many who stand with you in obedience to God, Governor Perdue!

SONY PERDUE HAS DONE GREAT THINGS FOR GEORGIA. IF HE WANTS TO PRAY IN PUBLIC, LET HIM. IT IS, AFTERALL HIS AMERICAN RIGHT ALSO. SOMEBODY NEEDS TO SUE ACLU SO THEY WILL SHUT UP FOR A CHANGE AND GET OFF THE FRIVOLOUS LAW SUITS.

Thank you Governor Perdue for not being concerned with keeping religion and state separate at a time of desperate need. Everyone should be looking to the lord for relief from the drought. It rained last night in North Georgia, and we have a ninety percent chance of rain again tonight. Keep on praying regardless of what the few critics might say.

I commend the Governor for his prayer, if only more politicians would do so! I for one am sick to death of the minority complaining and the government catering to the few over the many!

Like it or not this country was founded on the belief in God, George Washington the father of our country prayed for all to hear and asked God that he would keep the people of this country humble and that they would remember it was God and he alone who had blessed them.
