Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tommy Irvin - seen here - led the charge today to promote the safety of Georgia grown tomatoes.
He also invited others in his department to join him for "Tomato Sandwich Day."
It was part of an effort to remind people that Georgia grown tomatoes are safe to eat.
The event came in the wake of a nationwide salmonella outbreak.
Although federal inspectors say Georgia tomatoes are okay to eat, tomato growers have still felt the pinch from more cautious consumers.
