Georgia Sees Jump in Registered Voters
Campaign 2008 probably gets some of the credit for a jump in the number of Georgia's registered voters. Statewide the number of voters rose 7 percent in the last year. In fact, more registered voters than ever before are eligible to cast a ballot for the general primary elections July 15th. There's an increase in Walker County too. Election supervisor Barbara Berry hopes for a huge turnout this month.
Barbara Berry, Walker County Election Supervisor, "I'd love to see a 75 to 80 percent turn out to let us know that at least our work is appreciated our county money tax payers money is well spent."
Advanced voting for the July 15 election starts Monday.
