The playground at East Brainerd Elementary will soon be a child's delight...
Thursday designers from the Playground, Leathers & Associates, met with the kids at East Brainerd to brainstorm ideas for a new playground.
The venture should cost around $100,000, and Bi-Lo Charities is pitching in half the fund-raising goal.
Playground Designer Barry Segal says, "People are not connecting to each other as much as they should or used to, and this is one way to bring community back together. They get to rally around their kids, the future of their community. And the kids remember that."
Segal expects to start construction in March.
The playground is built with volunteer labor, and should take only 5 days.
