Hamilton County has a Blue Ribbon School this year.
It's a national award set up to honor schools with high achievement.
And the Blue Ribbon award goes to Dupont Elementary in our area.
They are one of just over three hundred to win nationally.
The winning schools have to be top achievers in their state and to have made remarkable improvements in their ranking.
“I am so proud of the work that our students and staff have done at Dupont Elementary in the last few years,” said Principal Anita Coleman. “This award is the capstone of all our efforts and showcases to the nation that what we are doing here is valuable and positively affects all our students.”
Superintendent Scales says the award is a great honor.
“We are proud of the accomplishments that have gone on at Dupont Elementary and that one of our schools has been recognized for helping all students to succeed,” Dr. Scales said. “This is a great honor for the students and staff of Dupont Elementary as well as for Hamilton County.”
