Dalton to Stream Council Meetings Online
Dalton residents who can't make it to city council's weekly meetings can soon view them from home.
The council recently approved the purchase of equipment that will stream the video of meetings online.
Citizens simply log onto the city's website to view the latest meeting.
City Clerk Bernadette Chattam says the system cost $38,000 and is worth the investment.
Chattam explains, "One of the things that Mayor Pennington wanted to do was get everybody involved in city government and the issues that we face every day. This is a way that if you can't make the meeting, you'll have an opportunity to look at it later."
The video will be up and running on the website in early June.
