The community stands behind LFO cheerleaders after the school district bans their game banners.

Since around 9-11 the cheerleaders have made banners with bible verses on them.

After a complaint, the Catoosa school district told them they could no longer display them.

The district cites the separation of church and state.

Those who support the cheerleaders say it's a student-led effort that doesn't fall under the federal law.

Zack Lewis, LFO Football Player, "The students and the cheerleaders football players we all as a student organization want to do it not just the teachers but the students and the whole community."

Brad Scott, Former Student, "Our schools are trying to get our students to present a positive message to our community and that's what they're trying to do and and they're being defeated."

Bishop Steve Smith, Boynton Church of God, "I think it's a sad day when the school board will listen to one lady's objection over to all of the other people's objection."

A rally is planned at the Chick Fil A on Battlefield Parkway for 7 pm Tuesday.
