A local collection agency tries to make the holiday a little less stressful...
North American Credit Services is cutting collection calls for Christmas week.
The agency deals mainly in medical collections and brings in as much as $150,000 in pay arraignments on a given week.
But during the Christmas season, agents say customers need a break.
Corporate Officer Darin Bunton says, "We like to take a much more customer first approach during the week of Christmas. We know that it's been a tough year, it's been tough times, recession talk and it's been difficult for people to pay their bills this year and especially during Christmas."
All 300 employees signed the "Collector's Pledge" Tuesday, vowing to treat all consumers with dignity and respect.
