BRADLEY COUNTY, TN-  J. Adam Lowe, a Cleveland-area business owner, announced today that he will be running for 4th district county commission in 2010.

“After months of consultation with several local leaders and dear friends, I am privileged to be candidate for the 4th district commission.

Now is a special time for our county.  My children need quality schools and my employees need a strong small business environment.  As parents, employers, and tax payers, we matter.  People want leadership that represents them.  They want us to balance healthy county growth with the preservation of our community values.  I am running to represent the families who place their children in our care, the businesses that place their success in our development, and the folks who place their trust and money in our future. ”

Adam is the co-founder of GravelRoad Entertainment, a Bradley-based audiovisual technologies company and MARQ Group, an organizational development-consulting firm.  Adam also serves as the director for Lee University’s annual alumni fund.  Adam has worked with churches, nonprofits, and campaigns for the past 10 years in the areas of education, technology, fiscal management, counseling, and strategic planning.

“Industry is growing in the area which means job growth; however, I won’t forget that our largest local industry is small business.  Jobs matter and over the past decade, I have been able to provide good, hard-working people with steady paying jobs.  Times are tough and we need an environment where small business can succeed.  Such is the backbone of any strong local economy.”

Adam believes in limited, honest government.  In 2008, he served as the Tennessee chair of Young Professionals for McCain.  In that role, Adam encouraged young professionals to take a stand for limited government, even at the local level.

“Our county purse is being used like many clients I encounter; haphazardly and without legitimate transparency.  Financial projections have been incorrect and county services are used as leverage in political quarrels.  Taxes matter and county citizens pay those taxes for our leaders to make decisions on behalf of the community good…not to play politics.”

Adam is the former development director for the Boys & Girls Clubs in north Georgia, a member of the National Association of Fundraising Professionals, and an active member of the Bradley County Republican party.  He is active in the Cleveland Kiwanis Club and serves as the co-chair of the community services committee.  He and his wife Rachel, a local high school guidance counselor, serve as the pastors for college and career at Mt. Olive Church of God.   They have two children, Blaine and Avri.  Adam graduated Lee University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and human development and attended the University of Tennessee Chattanooga for a master’s in public administration.

The Republican primary will be held on Tuesday May 4, 2010 with early voting beginning April 14th.  The general election will be held on August 5, 2010.
