A bust of former Hamilton County Sheriff H.Q. Evatt was unveiled Wednesday at the Justice Building.
Evatt served Hamilton County for 42 years, 22 as sheriff.
He died in May of 2008.
Evatt implemented a number of programs including the Civil Service.
He was also one of the originators of the Forgotten Child Fund.
Evatt's family commissioned artist Cessna Decosimo to make the bust, commemorating his life and accomplishments.
Sheriff Evatt's wife Bobbie says he was a people person with a big heart.
She says, "I didn't look at it till today, and so I was kinda overcome with it, but it was just so wonderful. He just captured the best years of him, and I'm just very pleased with it."
Evatt's son Mike become the model for the bust.
The bust is not quite complete yet, but will be in about 6 weeks.
