
Business News: Sun Microsystems to Cut 6,000 Jobs

Sun Microsystems is cutting up to six-thousand jobs, or 18 percent of its workforce, as it restructures its business operations.
The California-based company has fallen into a deep slump as sales of its high-end servers have collapsed.
It's the maker of the Java computer programming software.
The job cuts will take place over the next year.
The company expects the heavy trimming will save it up to 800-million dollars a year.
