Batman a Big Hit at the Box Office
Batman is being hailed a hero at the box office as the "The Dark Knight" sets a box office record, earning more than 155 million dollars.
The superhero flick beat out "Spider-Man 3", which released last year, for the top spot. Actor Christian Bale, who starred in "Batman Begins," returns as the popular superhero, and the late Heath Ledger, who died in January, plays his nemesis,
The Joker. There is speculation Ledger will receive a posthumous Oscar nomination for his performance.
Coming in second to Batman is the musical "Mamma Mia!," which brought in more than 27 million dollars, and Will Smith's "Hancock" is third with 14 million.
