For the second time this week, Adam Mitchell will be representing
his community in a highly visible golf tournament.
In addition to earlier this week accepting the USGA’s prestige
invitation to play in the Walker Cup, Adam has received
and accepted a sponsor’s exemption to play in the Chattanooga Classic
presented by Black Creek.  The Nationwide Tour event will be
played October 8-11 at Black Creek.  In addition to playing
in the tournament, Adam will also participate in the Chattanooga Classic
Media Day and the October 4th Youth Clinic.
Adam received the first of four exemptions offered by the Classic.
Mitchell has many accomplishments that includes being recognized
as one of the top ten amateur golfers in the United States.
A recent University of Georgia graduate, Adam won the 2009
and 2006 SEC Championship and in 2008 won the 50th annual Porter Cup.
“As shown by his performance, the Chattanooga
community and the Chattanooga Classic are very fortunate to have Adam.  He’s a great player and certainly one of the future PGA TOUR star’s
of tomorrow and we are fortunate that Adam can play in the
Chattanooga Classic,” said Mickey McCamish, Tournament Director.
“What a very special week it’s been for me especially being able
to represent my community in the Walker Cup and now the Chattanooga Classic,” said Mitchell.  ‘I am truly honored to be playing in the Chattanooga Classic, in my hometown and before so many members of the Chattanooga community .”
