Opponents of partial birth abortion launch a campaign and website to get their bill passed.
David Fowler leads the group Family Action of Tennessee. He spoke Tuesday at the National Memorial for the Unborn in Chattanooga.
Fowler says many legislators and voters are not aware Tennessee does not have a law banning partial birth abortion. The group has unveiled a website to educate the public. They say if they attempted to pass a bill now, it could be challenged in court.
Partial Birth Abortion Bill
David Fowler, "Even if we were to pass one, the attorney general says I don't think I could defend it against a legal challenge, the supreme court not just took sides, they took a radical side and SJR127 is intended to make our constitution neutral once again."
Fowler says if the bill does not pass this term, it cannot come up for a vote again until 2014. He claims six people on a House subcommittee are standing in the way of the bill.
