What last week was for the Stock Market.. This week has been for local manufacturing. Plants have fallen like dominoes this week across the Tennessee Valley.

The local economy takes a couple more hits.

Shaw Industries is shutting down Plant number 76 in Trenton, Georgia by mid-November.

That will cost Dade County 440-jobs.

Officials Announce Who Will Run New Merged Tech School in North Georgia

Dr. Craig McDaniel was named today as president of the combined Coosa Valley Technical College and Northwestern Technical College.

The two schools will merge as of July 1st, 2009, and the two boards will choose a new name.


Women's Hang Gliding Festival On Lookout Mountain

     Hang gliding isn't a sport just for men.
     The number one hang gliding school in the U-S sits on top of Lookout Mountain and boasts a number of women pilots.
     They banded together this weekend for the first women's hang gliding festival.
