Cops were Right
I viewed the video of the incident and the police acted very professionally and responsibly during the incident. I also see the history that Meyer has with his pranks and thinking that anytime he is on camera is an opportunity to be funny and post it on youtube. At the incident, a normal person would have left the microphone after the time alotted and after the microphone was shut off. Meyer instead, continues to ramble on refusing to give the next student the opportunity to participate in the forum. At this point, he had the choice to leave when asked, or to be forced away from the microphone. He chose to be forced away from the microphone. These forums have rules and order like the rest of society. He did not follow the rules. No one cares that his question was likeable or not likeable, he did not follow the rules. The officers began forcing him away from the microphone because he would not walk away on his own. At that point, he was under arrest for disturbing the peace. Mr. Meyer is seen flailing his arms around to get away from the officers. Anytime officers tell someone to put their hands behind their back, or stop resisting, anything they do that is the opposite is called "resisting arrest." He only has to stiffen his arms or refuse to put his hands behind his back to resist. He went over and above that and was flailing his arms and I saw him push one officer away from him. He continued to resist, and the officers are not going to just punch him in the face, so they followed their protocol and used the taser which is not as invasive as a good punch to the face. The taser allows the officers to keep their distance from him and get him to comply when he is resisting. He got a good zap, and he deserved it. Now, he's on video and the joke is on him cause the officers are on paid leave and the video will be shown that they acted professionally and within their training. The loser, Meyer, will now be on youtube in a way he does not want, yelling for help like a wuss. He also will have a nice blemish on his record for the next time he decided to take an opportunity to be a celebrity because the camera is rolling. The police did a good job...a great job.
