They can turn on you.
Pit bulls are the most loving dogs I have ever owned. Each one has its own personality and needs to be treated differently. They always need love not cruel or mean treatment. Of course they will turn on anyone who is threatening them or their family. Dont humans do the same thing? Pits and American bulldogs have been put in the same category, many times people and even vets cannot tell the difference. Insurance companies will not insure property that has a bulldog of either kind, not knowing the difference. Pits and the american bull dogs protected my girls and myself when we lived alone in a high crime area. They never left my property to do any harm but stood between us and danger when danger threatened. they always were excellent judges of character and knew when to guard. I will always love and defend them even though because of insurance purposes I cannot own one now. They need to be treated better and given their rightful place in Mans' Best Friend world.
