First, I would like to thank all of the people that have taken a stand for pitbulls. I have a pitty, and she is the love of my life. I have had her since she was 6 weeks old, and my daughter was 3 1/2 months at the time. I was not a big fan of the breed at the time, but immediately I could tell that I had them all wrong. My daughter's father died in a car accident 2 days after purchasing her, and he had told me that she was my Christmas present (he died Dec. 10). I immediately located her when I was told what had happened. The second night I had her, I woke up to the dog missing from the bed. She had climbed into my daughter's basinet, which was at the head of my bed. I found her in the same spot every night until I moved into my own apartment. My dog is the kindest dog you will ever meet- the only time she EVER gets upset with anyone is when they don't pet her upon walking into the house. She loves everyone. Please stop this ignorance. If will only hurt the people that actually care enough to have their dogs taken care of if this BSL BS actually gets passed. My dog is taken care of by a veterinarian on a very regular basis, and they know what breed she is. The people that take care of their dogs will be the ONLY ones hurt by this. The people that don't care about their dogs will only find a different breed, and do just the same to that breed's reputation as the ignorant jerks have done to the reputation of the pitbull. Ignorance is the reason this is taking place. PEOPLE- PLEASE just realize what loyalty and compasion you have in your animal. Pitty's are wonderful dogs, and I have yet, in my 6 years of having one and caring about them, come across one that I was concerned for mine or my child's welfare. Take care of your animals- love them, talk to them, and spend time with them. They will love you far more than any person could ever love you- their love is blind, and they forgive and forget. PLEASE DON'T TAKE THEM AWAY!!!!!!
