KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin would not
confirm or deny rumors that starting free safety Janzen Jackson
would be suspended for Saturday night's Memphis game.
Defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin didn't comment on the
freshman's status either on Thursday but said he plans to start
either Prentiss Wagner or Darren Myles Jr.
Lane Kiffin says he will address any suspensions after the Vols
(4-4) face the Tigers (2-6).
Jackson has started seven games this season and stands and is
sixth on the team with 33 tackles. He's tied for third in special
teams tackles with five.
The Lake Charles, La., was named Southeastern Conference
freshman player of the week this week after logging seven tackles,
breaking up two passes and forcing a fumble in the Volunteers'
31-13 win over South Carolina on Saturday.
