Polk County Will Take The Rafting Tax to the Tennessee Supreme Court
Submitted by WDEF on November 21, 2008 - 6:39pm. News | Polk County NewsPolk county officials will appeal a court ruling on their rafting tax.
For years.. The county has charged a tax on rafters that was collected by the outfitting companies for the Ocoee River.
The companies fought it in court and finally won.
An appeals court ruled the county will have to provide refunds to rafters.
And that could cost them a million dollars.
But now the county is asking the Tennessee Supreme Court to review the law.
