Hamilton County Caring Cops Toy Drive Begins
Submitted by Joe Legge on November 21, 2008 - 5:02pm. News | Community | Consumer News | Hamilton County NewsHamilton County law enforcement agencies kicked off their "Caring Cops toy drive" this afternoon. They installed donation bins at the tag and title office on Bonny Oaks and at the old courthouse downtown.
The toys will go to the Forgotten Child Fund. Churches, schools, community based organizations and deputies will help identify kids that need some extra Christmas cheer. Sheriff's Office PIO Dusty Stokes says "we know the economy is worse this year over last year but we still hope the citizen of Hamilton County reach deep down in their hearts and give, cause for kids it is about receiving instead of giving."
Last year 3,700 children received gifts.
Donation bins will be added to area Wal-mart and Chick-fil-a stores, December 1st. The toy drive ends December 18th.
