Washington Mutual says it's cutting 16-hundred jobs in the San Francisco area.
The affected workers will receive 60-day notices on December first.
Their work will be shifted to other facilities around the country.
WaMu collapsed in September, marking the biggest bank failure in the nation's history.
Federal regulators seized the company's banking operations, before selling the company to J-P Morgan Chase.
