Lady Vols Return to Chattanooga on Friday

|

Lady Mocs coach Wes Moore figures to get the Lady Vols best shot on Friday, especially since Tennessee was upset by Virginia earlier this week.
"Virginia got their attention.  I'm sure there won't be any lack of focus on their part.  My only hope is that she just wears them out.  Hope they practiced at 5:30 every morning this week, and then again in the afternoon."
Moore has known Pat Summitt for nearly thirty years, and he says there's one stat on her resume that says it all.
"It's just amazing to win 8 national championships. Every now and then, you just stop and think about that. It really puts things in perspective in a hurry of what a monumental task you have ahead of you."
Last year, the Lady Mocs lost by only twenty in Knoxville, but Chattanooga had Laura Hall playing point guard.
"I had so many coaches contact me after that game from South Carolina or wherever they saw it on TV.
They wanted a copy of it, so they could teach their point guards to play  like Laura Hall."
Moore concedes it would take a miracle for Chattanooga to win on Friday.
"They're going to double us. They're going to trap us.  If we are fortunate enough to get it out of there without turning it over, we've got to hit the open shot to have any chance at all."
But playing the Lady Vols in McKenzie Arena is always great experience, regardless of the outcome.
"Still, it's great for our program. It's great for our fans.
And it's great for Chattanooga."  Tipoff has been moved on Friday to 6:30pm.
