Vols Should Play Two QB's Against Northern Illinois
Submitted by Rick Nyman on September 30, 2008 - 7:00pm. Inside WDEF | Tennessee Vols KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee expects to play both Jonathan
Crompton and Nick Stephens at quarterback Saturday against Northern Illinois.
The Volunteers (1-3) are off to their worst start in 14 years
and Crompton has struggled to get them into the end zone.
Crompton and Stephens are competing this week to start against
the Huskies (2-2). But even if Stephens doesn't practice well
enough to start, offensive coordinator Dave Clawson wants to see
him in a game.
Stephens is 1-for-2 for 42 yards this season, with both passes
coming against UAB.
