Wrong on refineries, TN doesn't get gas from Texas
Tennessee motorists are not served by Texas refining operations. Texas is in the EIA's PADD 3 region which includes Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and New Mexico. Tennessee is in District 2 with Kentucky, Ohio, Missouri, and others. The only states impacted by a refining problem in Texas are those in PADD 3.
Because everyone went crazy and bought gas over the last couple of days, the PADD 1 & 2 refineries are struggling to keep up with demand in their service states, while also sending some supply to PADD 3 states.
If everyone had gone about their business as usual, no big deal. The people in the states impacted by the Hurricane wouldn't have been buying gas like crazy anyhow, because the roads are impassable and there's a curfew. I suggest you visit:
