Bradley County Man Posing As Police
Submitted by Jason Law on July 23, 2008 - 5:26pm. News | Bradley County News
Bradley County investigators issue a warning about a man posing as a police officer.
Tuesday night, a young woman was stopped by a car with a flashing red light.
The driver of the car told the woman he thought she was intoxicated.
The woman grew suspicious by the man's casual appearance and drove off.
The phony officer then followed her before she called police.
The man drove a white car and is described as 5 feet tall with a mustache and long hair.
"The bottom line is people need to be aware that we use blue lights," says Captain Steve Lawson with the Bradley County Sheriff's Department.
"If a person is pulled over and they have any question in their mind, what they should do is not stop on a dark road for anybody. Go to a lit location, pull into a store. We'll understand."
