You can overcome
One of my best friends told me about you and your book. I have not read it yet but, will do so asap. I can sympathize with you as my childhood was very abusive and my first marriage was similar. I have managed to stay sane since my first priority was to raise my children to love and deeply care for others. Today they are both wonderful people and parents. I also raised my two step-children who we obtained custody of at the ages 3&5. I am Mom to all of them and have pride in the fact that they still come to me when they need advice. My eight grandchildren are beautiful and so smart which is a bright star that steers me forward every day. No one can ever make up for what you have faced but if your heart is good then you will overcome the memories and change the way you live your life. Thank you again for putting your words down for others to read.
