Billy Long
I'd like to say that the presumption of innocence applies only to a court setting. Individuals have no obligation to assume Billy Long, or any other arrested person, innocent and few do. Doesn't matter as we can't pass sentence on Billy Long.
I read where people talk about the presumption of innocence as if it applies to the general public. As if we're all supposed to withhold judgement. It doesn't. In the eyes of the general public Billy Long is as guilty as he can be. We've got all the proof we need. Inside the courtroom is the only place where he must be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
