I think this is a case of someone wanting to get sympathy not only from her survivor buddies but the american public as well. This was a stupid move because she did it on national tv and made the school look REALLY bad- the superintendant was getting personal attacks through e-mail. I think Lane had every right to go public and call Martin out- after all Martin cast the first stone by saying what she said on national tv. Also- because the network felt sorry for her they offered her money- a good bit of money at that, now there is something tangible involved and I feel that if she accepts the money, if it indeed is still offered to her then she obviously has no morals and no pride. She must think that $50,000 is going to make her rich or popular or both. In reality because she told such a stupid lie she made herself look like an idiot that no one will take seriously ever again. How dumb.
