"And when the prayer is

"And when the prayer is answered all will know that God is God."

Now, I'm not much of a religious person for my own reasons, however I do support others in their own beliefs. But this comment right here is like saying if I prayed for a quarter to land heads up, and it landed tails up 10 times in a row, then finally heads up....Well that must mean god is god and he is real for this heads up quarter. Now look, rain is just as much chance as anything, and it will come in due time. Have faith in your religion but have some common sense too.

As far as the real issue at hand, there is a line being blurred more often than not in our government. That line being separation of church and state. It's very important to have strong leaders in our society, whether they believe their strength comes from faith in god or from a jar filled with magic sand. However for the latter part, if we had a leader who in fact believed in a magically jar of sand he would quickly be condemned and put out of office, no matter how much good or bad he was doing for our country.

With our country being primarily Christians, most gladly accept the mention of god into the speeches of our leaders. For those people nothing is wrong with it at all, and in essence if our country was 100% Christian there wouldn't be anything wrong with it at all. Clearly though we are a culturally diverse nation. Every person is entitled to their own personal beliefs, and this being said, a majority of the population tends to overlook said fact because of their own beliefs.

The reason to separate church and state isn't to condemn god or shun his existence, no. It's merely to ensure that the percentage of our population that doesn't hold the leading officials beliefs is accounted for. If we continue down this path of ignoring that separation we will find ourselves in a country with a "Be a Christian or get out" policy. That simply isn't right. And if any Christian thinks thats the type of world we should live in then they need to re read that dusty bible in their home. We were created with the right, the ability, and the option to choose. And for that reason only God shall, can, and truly will judge us.
