Nightfall Preview: Ruthie Foster

This was one of the dates I've got circled on my Nightfall Calendar.

I love Ruthie Foster's current album... The Phenominal Ruthie Foster.

Even she admits it's a breakthrough piece of work.

Foster emerged from Texas and made a career on the acoustic music scene.. fitting somewhere between folk and blues.

But now she's back in Austin and experimenting with her sound.

Instead of the tasteful, quiet music, she has now turned into a Soul Queen who doesn't mind spending some musical time in swamp country.

She's got the big voice, the B3 playing behind her and plenty of country atmospherics.

Here's a clip of her summer show in Dallas three weeks ago, performing Travellin' Shoes.

And here she is performing Full Circle.

After her summer tour, she's headed back into the studio for another album.
