Cats are usually solitary and quiet animals. But one cat from New Jersey proved to be quite the road warrior.
The New Jersey feline which vanished three weeks ago has been found almost 800 miles south of his home in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The cat's owner, Krystyn O'Donnell says Heathcliff just slipped out of her apartment one day. O'Donnell said she figured her two-year-old cat was gone for good from her Sicklerville, New Jersey home.
Living near the Atlantic City Expressway, O'Donnell figured her cat may have not survived its run for freedom. Last week, O'Donnell got a call from Georgia that left her stunned.
Heathcliff was not only living, he was in the Deep South. Someone had taken him to an animal shelter in Lawrenceville, Georgia and thanks to the tiny microchip containing his identifying information the Georgia shelter was able to quickly track down his owner.
No word on when O'Donnell and Heathcliff will be reunited.
A harrowing afternoon for 'Peanuts' the cat.
Apparently, the black and white kitty wanted to get away from it all Wednesday and climbed into the top of a tree. The cat's owner couldn't coax 'Peanuts' down so a call to the fire department.
In fine tradition...a ladder truck was dispatched and a stalwart fire fighter eased into the branches for the rescue. It appears the cat wasn't happy about leaving its perch.
Finally, 'Peanuts' was hauled down but the reunion with its owner was brief...as the cat quickly disappeared into the background.
