7/22/08 More Severe Weather?
Much like yesterday, daytime heating will lead to a few scattered afternoon storms. Some of these storms could be strong with damaging winds being the main threat. Once again there will be ample amounts of moisture leading to very heavy rainfall, which could lead to minor road flooding. You will notice below the all areas with the green line are under the gun for severe weather. Click on image from the Storm Prediction Center for more.
To the north of TN is a cold front that will re-intensify ongoing storms from this morning. Some of these could move in later today locally. A few more storms are possible overnight and into the morning on Wednesday. With the cold front overhead tomorrow, I look for more widespread rainfall, but severe weather will be minimal with less daytime heating.
Some locations between today and tomorrow could easily pick up 1-2inches of rain. You can track the forecasted storms by using our futurecast here. We will likely hit the mid 90s this afternoon, but heat index values could reach 100+.
See you soon,
Brian
