Watch kids get all wet in the annual Boyd Buchanan Physics Boat Races

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Students at Boyd Buchanan are showing off their skills and racing across Buccaneer Lake.

Physics Students created and built their own boats for the annual event.

The boats have been made out of cardboard, duct tape, and paint.

The idea is to see how long they can float on the water, while racing across the lake.

This is the 22nd year for the event.

Physics teacher Jason Owens told us “Parents come out. I got so many alumni out here this year, it’s unbelievable, and it’s a big event. The whole school will come out in a couple of minutes. And like I say, this has become a tradition at Boyd Buchanan.”

We’ll have more on the annual Physics Boat Day during a future edition of What’s Right With Our Schools.
