CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- While it’s raining here in the Tennessee Valley, residents and tourists in Gatlinburg are continuing to evacuate the city tonight.
Just over an hour ago, the National Weather Service issued a mandatory evacuation of the tourist-friendly town.
Intense smoke has already filled the air due to the surrounding fires.
Many are hoping those fires are put out as the rain moves into the area.
News 12 will update as the story develops.
